Abstract:
The present invention comprises: an electric motor (8) that relatively rotates a cam shaft around a timing sprocket; a cover member (4) provided so as to cover a front end section of the electric motor; and an angle sensor (35) that detects the rotational angle position of a motor output shaft (13). The angle sensor comprises: a unit (50) for detection, provided inside a tip section of the motor output shaft; and a detection unit (51) provided in the cover member and facing the unit for detection having a minute clearance (C) therebetween. A metal plate-shaped reinforcing plate (28a) is molded and fixed to the inside of a cover main body (28) comprising synthetic resin and being the main part of the cover member and the rigidity of the whole cover main body is increased.
