Abstract:

Provided is a variable valve device making it possible to change the rotation speed of an inverted cam lobe during a single rotation of a driving camshaft without complicating the device structure when a structure is employed in which the driving camshaft is driven by the rotational force of a crankshaft. The variable valve device comprises: the driving camshaft (12) which is rotationally driven by rotation of the crankshaft; and the inverted cam lobe (18a) which is rotatably supported by the driving camshaft (12). The variable valve device comprises a guide member (36) including a track surface (36a1) formed so as to cover the driving camshaft (12). The variable valve device comprises a link mechanism (35) which is linked to the driving camshaft (12) and the inverted cam lobe (18a) and includes a control roller (32) that makes contact with the track surface (36a1). The variable valve device comprises a link plate (34) and a holding roller (38) which are configured to maintain contact between the track surface (36a1) and the control roller (32) during a single rotation of the driving camshaft (12). The variable valve device comprises an actuator (42) for driving the guide member (36).
