Abstract:
A cam sensor is installed in a valve timing controller, at a position facing one
side of a driven sprocket for cam. When the valve timing controller is rotating
at a high speed, a weight is rotated by centrifugal force generated by the rotation
of the controller and this allows a projection of the weight to be detected by the
cam sensor. At each rotation of the valve timing controller, the projection of
the weight passes a position detectable by the cam sensor, and a pulse occurs in
the cam signal transmitted from the cam sensor to an ECU.
