Abstract:
The present invention highly accurately distinguishes a change in the properties of a vascular wall, the change being dependent on the type of the vascular disease. In view of the fact that there is a difference between arteriosclerosis and aneurysm, etc., which are vascular diseases, in terms of a change in the properties of a vascular wall, and in view of the fact that the waveform of a reflective echo has a waveform characteristic derived from a change in the properties of a vascular wall, the present invention performs frequency analysis for the waveform of a reflective echo so as to separate the waveform into a high frequency component and a low frequency component, uses, for determination, the high frequency component and low frequency component that are separated from each other, obtains the viscoelasticity of the vascular wall on the basis of the low frequency component so as to identify arteriosclerosis, and obtains a change in the shape of the vascular wall on the basis of the high frequency component so as to identify aneurysm, etc., thereby to highly accurately distinguish between arteriosclerosis and aneurysm, etc., that are different from each other in terms of a change in the properties of a vascular wall.
