Abstract:
Disclosed is a vector for nuclear transport of a substance. Also disclosed is
a composition containing the vector. A unilamellar liposome (1a) comprises
a lipid membrane (2a) and a substance (3) enclosed in the lipid membrane (2a),
wherein a sugar and a peptide comprising contiguous two or more amino acid residues
are introduced to the surface of the lipid membrane (2a). The liposome (1a) can
be transported from the outside of a cell to the inside of the cell through the peptide
present on the surface of the lipid membrane (2a). After the liposome (1a) is
transported into the cell, the sugar on the surface of the lipid membrane (2a)
is bound to a nuclear pore complex. The sugar bound to the nuclear pore complex
is drawn into the nuclear of the cell to cause the disintegration of the lipid membrane
(2a), whereby the substance (3) enclosed in the lipid membrane (2a) can be released
into the inside of the nuclear through the nuclear pore.
