Abstract:
A vehicle air conditioner applied to a vehicle in which idle-stop control is implemented, wherein the purpose of the vehicle air conditioner is to keep the engine from stopping after a short period before a passenger feels coolness, and to improve the air conditioning comfort. The vehicle air conditioner is provided with a compressor (11), a radiator (12), a decompression unit (14), a cooling heat exchanger (15), a temperature detection unit (56), and a prohibition request outputting unit (50d). The compressor is driven by the engine (EG), and takes in and discharges coolant. The radiator radiates the heat held by the coolant discharged from the compressor. The decompression unit decompresses and expands the coolant from which heat has been radiated by the radiator. The cooling heat exchanger cools the air blown into the vehicle cabin using the coolant that has been decompressed and expanded by the decompression unit. The temperature detection unit detects the temperature (TE) of the cooling heat exchanger. The prohibition request outputting unit outputs a request to prohibit idle-stop control to the idle-stop control unit (70) until the temperature of the cooling heat exchanger decreases to the temperature at which the air can be cooled and until the requisite cooling time (T_COOL) has elapsed, the requisite cooling time being the time estimated to be required for a passenger to feel coolness due to the air that is cooled by the cooling heat exchanger.
