Abstract:
In order to accurately determine whether or not a variable capacity compressor is being operated at a maximum discharge capacity, the volumetric efficiency (ηv) of a refrigerant sucked into a cylinder is calculated on the basis of the rotation speed (Nc) of the variable capacity compressor (S101), the refrigerant density (ν') at the inlet of the compressor is calculated on the basis of the set value (Ps') of suction pressure (Ps), using these volumetric efficiency and refrigerant density, the flow rate threshold (Gsl) for accurately determining whether the variable capacity compressor is being operated at the maximum discharge capacity is calculated according to the following expression (S103), and the variable capacity compressor is determined to be being operated at the maximum discharge capacity when the detected actual refrigerant flow rate (Gr) is the flow rate threshold (Gsl) or more, and determined to be being operated at less than the maximum discharge capacity when the detected actual refrigerant flow rate is less than Gsl.
