Abstract:
This vehicle animacy perception promotion system 90 comprises: an occupant pressure detection unit 42 which detects the movement of an occupant in a vehicle applying pressure to the vehicle using his/her muscle strength; two contact units 8R, 8L which make contact with different portions of the body of the occupant; an actuator 6; a command unit 52; and a drive unit 53. The actuator 6 applies, to at least one of the two contact units, a force, including a component for bringing the two contact units close to each other in a direction to connect the portions of the two contact units which make contact with the body portions, so that the two contact units sandwich the body portion of the occupant located therebetween and apply pressure thereto. The command unit 52 determines, on the basis of the movement detected by the occupant pressure detection unit, the force to be applied to at least one of the two contact units by the actuator so that the occupant's perception of the animacy of the vehicle is promoted.
