Abstract:
Provided is a vehicle approach notification device which gives proper notification to a person such as a pedestrian in consideration of the scale of a specific area and the like. A vehicle approach notification device (2) is provided with a position detection unit (21) which detects the current position of a vehicle, a map database (22) which stores map data, a specific area travel determination unit (23) which determines travel in a specific area using the current position from the position detection unit (21) and the map data from the map database (22), a specific area scale determination unit (24) which determines the scale of the specific area when information from the specific area determination unit (23) indicates the specific area, a storage unit (25) which stores a list of the thresholds of the scales of the specific areas, and a notification control unit (28). The notification control unit (28) outputs a control signal that emits a notification sound to a notification sound control unit (30) which controls the notification sound of the vehicle when the notification control unit compares information relating to the scale from the specific area scale determination unit (24) with the list of the thresholds from the storage unit (25) and the scale satisfies the threshold.
