Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is not only to reduce the burden on an operator when determining, for instance, whether or not another vehicle was included as a cause of a rear-end accident case or a risk incident case, but to allow the determination to be made accurately, or to eliminate the need for the determination. In addition, the present invention is provided with a lateral edge extraction unit (202) for extracting a lateral edge X which exists within a reference image frame Ft for a predetermined time; a candidate area generation unit (203) for generating, with the lateral edge X as a reference, candidate areas (W2) which include all or a portion of other vehicles within the reference image frame Ft; and a candidate area tracking unit (204) for tracking the candidate areas (W2) in image frames other than the reference image frame Ft. Furthermore, the candidate area tracking unit (204) uses likelihood calculations to detect horizontal translation and resizing of textures of the candidate areas (W2) in tracking the candidate areas (W2).
