Abstract:

Provided is a vehicle behavior control device that can improve the perception of linearity and responsiveness of vehicle behavior when steering, without the driver being made perceive a strong sensation of control intervention, and that can also control vehicle behavior so as to improve ride comfort and the perception of vehicle attitude stability. The vehicle behavior control device controls the behavior of a vehicle (1) having front wheels (2) that are steered. The vehicle behavior control device comprises a PCM (14) that acquires the steering speed pertaining to a jerk in the widthwise direction of the vehicle, and that, on the basis of the steering speed, sets a torque reduction flag indicating whether the conditions for reducing the output torque of an engine (4) have been satisfied, and if the torque reduction flag has been set to True, which indicates a state in which the conditions for reducing the torque have been satisfied, initiates torque reduction.
