Abstract:
A vehicle body display device that uses the surface of a vehicle body as a display panel. To improve vehicle appearance when a light source that is arranged on the vehicle body is not emitting light, even if the color of the vehicle body is not a dark color, the vehicle body display device comprises: a light source that is arranged on the surface of the vehicle body and can switch between emitting light and not emitting light; a variable transmittance layer that is arranged further to the vehicle outside than the light source and can change light transmittance in accordance with the electrification thereof; and a colored semitransparent layer that is arranged further to the vehicle outside than the variable transmittance layer. Electrification of the variable transmittance layer is controlled such that the transmittance of the variable transmittance layer increases when the light source is emitting light and decreases when the light source is not emitting light.
