Abstract:
Provided is a vehicle body lateral structure capable of improving in conjunction the tightening torque stability on a bolt in a resin component and vehicle body rigidity and strength of the wheel house. This vehicle body lateral structure (1) comprises a rear strake (20) which is provided with a mounting unit (20b) for mounting to a plate-shape member (12b) of a side sill (12) through a rear inner fender (11), a bolt fastening surface (20d) which protrudes from the mounting surface (20b) by a first protrusion amount t1 towards the front of the vehicle, and a bolt through-hole (20e) which opens from the bolt fastening surface (20d) towards the front of the vehicle. The rear inner fender (11) is provided with a cut-out section (11a) which has a diameter larger than the bolt fastening surface (20d). A stepped bolt (30) comprises, in the axial direction, a screw portion (30a) which screws into a nut (14) fixed to the plate-shape member (12b) of the side sill (12), a small-diameter cylindrical section (30b), and a flange portion (30c) which has a diameter smaller than the bolt fastening surface (20d).
