Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a vehicle body structure that effectively absorbs an impact load during collision without increasing the rigidity of a floor tunnel section. This vehicle body structure is provided with: a pair of left and right side members (11) disposed at the front side of a vehicle; a pair of left and right extension side members (15) linked to the rear end side of the side members and disposed inward of a pair of left and right side sills (14); a sub-frame (13) for carrying a powerplant, the sub-frame disposed below the side members (12); a dash cross member (16) for coupling the rear end sides of the sub-frame together in a vehicle width direction; and coupling parts (17) for coupling the dash cross member to the extension side members. The extension side members (15) are formed so as to diverge so that the distance therebetween in the vehicle width direction increases from the front end side to the rear end side so that there is a rigidity balance wherein rigidity decreases in the order of the extension side members, dash cross member, sub-frame, side sills, and side members.
