Abstract:
This brake control device generates, using an electric motor controlled by a controller, a force to press a friction member against a rotary member fixed to each wheel in accordance with the operation amount of an operating member. This brake control device is provided with a pressure force sensor that detects the pressing force as a pressure force actual value and a rotational angle sensor that detects the rotational angle actual value of the electric motor. The controller determines whether or not the operating state of the pressure force sensor is appropriate. If it is determined that the operating state of the pressure force sensor is appropriate, the output of the electric motor is adjusted on the basis of the pressure force actual value, the correlation between the pressure force actual value and the rotational angle actual value is stored, and a conversion calculation map is prepared on the basis of the correlation. If it is determined that the operating state of the pressure force sensor is inappropriate, the output of the electric motor is adjusted on the basis of the rotational angle actual value and the conversion calculation map.
