Abstract:
A vehicle brake device (30) is mounted on a four-wheel vehicle (901, 905) in which wheels (91-94) are provided with a plurality of electric brakes (81-84) that each generate braking force on a corresponding wheel. The vehicle braking device (30) comprises a braking force control unit (40) that controls the braking force that each of the electric brakes (81-84) generates. Of the plurality of electric brakes, at least the pair of electric brakes (81, 82) corresponding to the left and right front wheels (91, 92) or the pair of electric brakes (83, 84) corresponding to the left and right rear wheels (93, 94) is a multiphase electric brake constituted by a multiphase motor (60) of three or more phases. The braking force control unit (40) executes "up-down processing" for increasing/decreasing, with respect to a reference value, a braking force command value for the multiphase electric brake so that current does not concentrate in a specific phase of the multiphase motor (60) when the braking force is being held.
