Abstract:
In this invention, a brake ECU automatically pressurizes a servo chamber of a master cylinder in step S11, and subsequently determines whether a single system failure has occurred in the master system in step S12. If a single system failure is detected to have occurred, the hydraulic chamber provided to the master cylinder is subjected to negative pressure in step S13, and performs a refresh drive in such a manner that brake fluid is made to flow from a reservoir to the hydraulic chamber via the sealing member provided to the interior of the master cylinder, enabling foreign bodies caught by the sealing member to be washed out. The brake ECU subsequently automatically pressurizes the servo chamber once more in step S14, determines whether the single system failure has been resolved in step S15, and if the single system failure has not been resolved, reports the occurrence of the single system failure in step S16.
