Abstract:
A vehicle bumper, wherein a bumper beam (11) comprises a center curved section (A) curving in a concave shape toward the front, and a pair of left and right curved sections (B) curving in a convex shape toward the front, and the left and right curved sections (B) are provided with a bumper-beam-extension connecting section (B1) and a load input section (B2) projecting farthest to the front along the bumper beam (11). As a result, it is possible not only to receive an impact load in the front-rear direction with the pair of left and right load input sections (B2) and to increase the absorption efficiency of the impact energy by causing a tensile load to act on the continuous fibers of the center curved section (A), but also to improve compactness and reduce the necessary strength of the bumper beam (11) by decreasing the bending moment during which the impact load acts on the bumper beam (11), by shortening the distance from the load input sections (B2) to which the load is inputted to the bumper-beam-extension connecting sections (B1).
