Abstract:
A vehicle cabin interior illumination control device (SS) comprises: a first detection unit (ZK) which detects whether or not at least one of a driver (UT) and a passenger-seat occupant (JT) aboard a vehicle (SR) is checking the rear; a second detection unit (UK) which detects whether or not the driver (UT) is checking behind the vehicle; and a control unit (SC) which turns on an interior light (ST) when the first detection unit (ZK) has detected that at least one of the driver (UT) and the passenger-seat occupant (JT) is checking the rear, and reduces the luminance of the interior light (ST) in comparison to that when the second detection unit (UK) has detected that the driver (UT) is not checking behind the vehicle or inhibits the lighting of the interior light (ST) in cases when the second detection unit (UK) has detected that the driver (UT) is checking behind the vehicle.
