Abstract:
A vehicle charging system provided with a control unit (10) that controls the supply of power to a plurality of vehicle charging devices to which a respective plurality of vehicles are connected. Said vehicle charging system has the following: a connection detection unit that detects when a vehicle is connected; a charging stop unit that temporarily stops charging of already-connected vehicles when the connection detection unit detects that a new vehicle has been connected; a new-vehicle charging-current measurement unit that, after charging of already-connected vehicles is stopped, temporarily sends power to the new vehicle as a test and measures the amount of charging current that flows through the new vehicle; and a new-vehicle possible-to-charge determination unit that, on the basis of the amount of charging current that the new-vehicle charging-current measurement unit has measured as flowing through the new vehicle, determines whether or not continuous charging of the new vehicle is possible.
