Abstract:
This vehicle collision detecting device (1) is equipped with: a bumper absorber (2, 21, 23) disposed forward of a bumper reinforcement (9) in a bumper (7) of a vehicle; a detection tube member (3, 31) mounted in a groove portion (2a, 21a, 23a) formed along the vehicle width direction in position to face the bumper reinforcement (9) in the bumper absorber (2, 21, 23), the detection tube member having a hollow portion (3a, 31a) formed therein; a pressure sensor (4) that detects the pressure in the hollow portion (3a, 31a) of the detection tube member (3, 31); and a collision detecting unit (6) that detects a collision of an object with the bumper (7) on the basis of the results of the pressure detection by the pressure sensor (4). The bumper absorber (2, 21, 23) has a protruding portion (20, 210, 230) that protrudes above the upper end surface (9c) of the bumper reinforcement (9).
