Title:
VEHICLE COLLISION DETECTION DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2018/003592
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
In the present invention, a collision detection sensor 3 is attached to the back side of a bumper cover of a vehicle. The collision detection sensor 3 includes a base film 32 and a plurality of sensor elements 31. The base film 32 is attached to the bumper cover at four anchoring parts. The plurality of sensor elements 31 are held on top of the base film 32 in a state in which adjacent elements are separated from each other. Each of the sensor elements 31 is formed by sandwiching a piezoelectric polymeric film 31a between a pair of divided electrodes 31b, 31c. A pedestrian protection ECU includes a deforming action part and an attachment state determination part. The deforming action part applies a drive voltage Vip to one of the sensor elements to cause the base film 32 to deform. The attachment state determination unit determines the presence or absence of an attachment defect of the sensor elements 31 to the bumper cover, on the basis of the deformation voltage Vdg occurring in the sensor element 31D to which a voltage was not applied.
