Abstract:
A vehicle communication device equipped with: a vehicle-side communication unit that communicates with a portable terminal device and is installed in a vehicle; an operation detection unit for detecting that a user has performed a first operation, the target of which differs from that of the portable terminal device; and a vehicle-side control unit for controlling an in-vehicle device installed in the vehicle, on the basis of input information received from the portable terminal device via the vehicle-side communication unit. The vehicle-side control unit controls the vehicle-side communication unit in a manner such that when the first operation is detected by the operation detection unit, the following is transmitted to the portable terminal device: instruction information that instructs the portable terminal device to display an input screen for remotely controlling the in-vehicle device, which is the target of a second operation that the user is expected to perform following the first operation.
