Abstract:
A vehicle communication system is provided with an on-board device that transmits a position detection signal from a plurality of antennas installed on a vehicle, and a portable device that receives the position detection signal transmitted from the on-board device and transmits a response signal containing the received signal strength of the received position detection signal. The plurality of antennas is installed on in a plurality of tire positions in the front, rear, right, and left where a vehicle tire is mounted. The on-board device receives the response signal transmitted from the portable device, identifies the position and direction of motion of the portable device on the basis of the received response signal, and controls the operation of electrical equipment installed in the vehicle according to the identified position and direction of motion of the portable device.
