Abstract:
Provided are an on-vehicle communication system, an on-vehicle communication device, and a transmission period calculation method that are capable of accurately calculating a message transmission period. The on-vehicle communication device on a message transmission side is provided with: a delay time measurement unit that measures a delay time from a time point when transmission of a message to be transmitted is first attempted to a time point when transmission of the message is started; and an adding unit that adds the delay time measured by the delay time measurement unit to the message. The on-vehicle communication device on a message reception side is provided with: a reception time point acquisition unit that acquires the time point when the message from the on-vehicle communication device on the transmission side is received; a delay time acquisition unit that acquires the delay time added to the received message; and a calculation unit that, on the basis of the time point acquired by the reception time point acquisition unit and the delay time acquired by the delay time acquisition unit of each of two received messages, calculates a message transmission period.
