Abstract:
This vehicle communication system is provided with a vehicle-mounted device which sends a signal from multiple transmission antennas disposed on a vehicle, and with a mobile device which receives the signal transmitted from said vehicle-mounted device and sends a response signal which includes the reception signal strength of the received signal. The transmission antennas include a first transmission antenna which is disposed in the vehicle cabin away from the center of the vehicle in the width direction to one side in the width direction, and a second transmission antenna which is disposed nearer the other side of the vehicle in the width direction. On the basis of the received signal strength of the signals transmitted from the first transmission antenna and the second transmission antenna, the vehicle mounted device determines whether or not the mobile device is inside of a region that contains the space in the vehicle cabin and that has a boundary surface following at least one side of the vehicle in the width direction.
