Abstract:
A vehicle control apparatus that can implement turning performance improving control for stabilizing vehicle behavior by controlling the drive force of a vehicle when turning is provided with: a steering detection means for detecting a steering operation by a driver; and a drive force limiting means for limiting the drive force when the turning performance improving control is implemented. The vehicle control apparatus is further provided with a limit relaxing means that temporarily changes the drive force in the direction of a change in the drive force by the turning performance improving control when it is determined that, with the drive force being limited by the drive force limiting means, the steering operation detected by the steering detection means is an angle increasing operation involving an increase in the steering angle by the driver during the implementation of the turning performance improving control.
