Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of estimating the position of the center of gravity and the moment of inertia of a trailer and applying the result to control of a connected vehicle so that the orientation of the connected vehicle during travel can be further stabilized. This vehicle control device, which is mounted on a tractor that pulls a trailer, is characterized by comprising: a steering angle control unit that controls the steering angle of the wheels of the tractor independently of steering by a driver; and a trailer characteristics estimation unit that estimates the characteristics of the trailer on the basis of the behavior of the tractor during wheel steering by the steering angle control unit.
