Abstract:
A driving assistance ECU (10) controls, as a vehicle control device, travel of a vehicle on the basis of the result of detection by a radar device (21) for detecting targets in the periphery of the local vehicle. By statistical processing of angular deviation information of the radar device (21) acquired at prescribed intervals, an angle calculation unit (30) of the driving assistance ECU (10) calculates an axial deviation angle, which is the amount of deviation in the attachment angle of the radar device (21). Until a prescribed initial period has elapsed after startup, a control processing unit (15) sets the angle deviation amount of the radar device (21) to a predetermined initial angle and limits travel control operations on the basis of said initial angle. Then, after the initial time period has elapsed after startup, said control processing unit (15) limits travel control operations on the basis of a calculated value of the axial angle.
