Abstract:
A vehicle control device comprising: a road recognition unit which recognizes the road configuration around a vehicle; an other-vehicle recognition unit which recognizes the state of another vehicle around the vehicle; and a driving control unit for causing the vehicle to travel by controlling vehicle steering and/or acceleration and deceleration and preventing passage of the vehicle through an intersection on the basis of the presence of another vehicle recognized by the other-vehicle recognition unit. If the road recognition unit recognizes the presence of multiple lanes on the left-right turn road ahead of the vehicle and the other-vehicle recognition unit recognizes another vehicle, formerly an oncoming vehicle approaching the vehicle from the opposing direction, as having entered the far lane (as seen from the vehicle) among the multiple lanes on the left-right turn road, the driving control unit continues to control against the vehicle entering the left-right turn road.
