Abstract:
An ECU is mounted in a vehicle provided with a converter that is capable of boosting and outputting a voltage to a drive load device, the voltage having been accumulated by an accumulator that stores power for obtaining drive force. The voltage boosting performed by the converter is commenced when at least one of the following conditions is satisfied: a first condition that a voltage boost request signal (Req) is received (i.e. a requested value for the output voltage of the converter exceeds the voltage (Vb) of the accumulator); or a second condition that the output power (P) of the accumulator is higher than the value obtained by subtracting a charging power (ΔP), which is briefly generated on commencement of voltage boosting, from a rated power (Wout) (i.e. it is anticipated that the output power (P) will exceed the rated power (Wout) on commencement of voltage boosting).
