Abstract:
The purpose of the invention is to provide a control device and control method for a vehicle that can ensure safety in turning behavior even in the case of low accuracy in estimating the stroke speed in a low µ state. [Solution] The damping force control amount of a damping force variable shock absorber is calculated based on stroke speed when no decrease is detected in the estimating accuracy of the stroke speed of the damping force variable shock absorber estimated from vehicle wheel speed, the damping force control amount corresponding to the vehicle speed is calculated when a decrease in the estimating accuracy is detected, and the damping force control amount corresponding to the vehicle speed when the size of the friction circle of the vehicle wheels is a predetermined value or less is increased above the damping force control amount corresponding to the vehicle speed when the friction circle is greater than the predetermined value.
