Abstract:
This vehicle control device (20) is provided with an object detection unit (21) which is mounted on a vehicle (10) and which detects objects in the direction of travel of the vehicle (10), and with a suppression unit (23) which suppresses the drive force of the vehicle (10) in the case of the object detection unit (21) detecting an object. If, in a state in which the suppression unit (23) is suppressing the drive force of the vehicle (10), instructions are given to move in the direction of travel and the vehicle (10) is stopped, then the suppression unit (23) carries out first processing for gradually increasing the drive force, and, after the vehicle (10) has started moving from the stopped state, carries out second processing which involves reducing the amount of increase of the drive force per unit time to less than in the first processing and gradually increasing the same.
