Abstract:
This vehicle control device is capable of keeping a vehicle from rolling backward during a hill start when implementing full speed range ACC. This vehicle control device has: a required drive force acquisition unit for acquiring, as required drive force, the drive force necessary in order to keep a stopped vehicle from rolling backward on the basis of the grade resistance and rolling resistance of the vehicle; a drive force control unit for controlling in a manner such that the actual drive force is equal to or greater than the required drive force, by controlling the output torque of the engine and the torque ratio of the torque converter (clutch) on the basis of the acquired required drive force; and a brake control unit for adjusting the brake pressure on the basis of the difference between the actual drive force and the required drive force.
