Abstract:
This vehicle control device is applied to a vehicle (10) having a rotating electrical machine (20) capable of transmitting a motive force to a driving wheel (11), an inverter (30) electrically connected to the rotating electrical machine, and a brake device (60) for imparting frictional braking torque to the driving wheel, wherein the vehicle control device controls the frictional braking torque and a regenerative braking torque generated concomitant with regenerative electricity generation performed by the rotating electrical machine, so as to generate a required braking torque to be imparted to the driving wheel. The vehicle control device comprises: a temperature acquiring unit for acquiring a temperature of at least one of the inverter and the rotating electrical machine; a determining unit for determining whether the temperature acquired by the temperature acquiring unit exceeds a temperature threshold; and a change control unit for performing change control to change a ratio between an upper limit value of the frictional braking torque capable of being imparted to the driving wheel and an upper limit value of the regenerative braking torque capable of being imparted to the driving wheel, if the temperature acquiring unit has determined that the acquired temperature exceeds the temperature threshold.
