Abstract:
This vehicle control device is provided with: a recognition unit (130) that recognizes the peripheral situation of a vehicle; a determination unit (141) that determines, on the basis of the peripheral situation of the vehicle recognized by the recognition unit, whether or not the vehicle is in a deadlock state of being unable to travel in an advancing direction; and cancel control units (142, 160) that, when the determination result obtained by the determination unit indicates that the vehicle is in the deadlock state, perform control to cancel the deadlock state by controlling steering and/or acceleration/deceleration of the vehicle so as to cause the vehicle to travel in a direction opposite to the advancing direction, on the basis of the recognition result obtained by the recognition unit.
