Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of improving availability while ensuring safety, in relation to a vehicle control system that performs driving assistance and automatic driving in a backlit environment. A vehicle control device according to the present invention is mounted on a vehicle and comprises: a sun position calculation unit that calculates position information of the sun at a prescribed time; a non-visible region calculation unit that, from the position information of the sun and position information of a vision target object, calculates a non-visible region in which it is difficult to see the vision target object; and a non-visible region output unit that outputs the calculated non-visible region. The vehicle control device further comprises: a non-visible region acquisition unit that acquires information of the non-visible region; and a vehicle control information output unit that, on the basis of the acquired information of the non-visible region, identifies the non-visible region on a route of the vehicle and outputs control information for the vehicle on the basis of the identified non-visible region.
