Abstract:
Disclosed is a vehicle control device which generates a speed pattern of a vehicle and controls the traveling of the vehicle on the basis of the speed pattern. Said vehicle control device is characterized by being provided with a rear vehicle traveling state grasp means for grasping the traveling state of a rear vehicle that travels in the rear of the vehicle, a wavy traveling speed pattern generation means for generating a wavy traveling speed pattern in which the vehicle travels while alternately repeating acceleration traveling and free-run traveling on the basis of the traveling state of the rear vehicle, and a control means for controlling the traveling of the vehicle on the basis of the wavy traveling speed pattern.
