A vehicle control device (1) for performing a control procedure in which the driving force of a vehicle is suppressed on the basis of an operation of a brake pedal (60) operated when a damping force is generated by a damping device (40), wherein the brake pedal (60) is connected to a brake booster (44) with which the operating force inputted to the brake pedal (60) is enhanced using negative braking pressure and is transmitted to the brake fluid of the damping device (40) in order to perform an appropriate control procedure by detecting the operation of the brake pedal (60) in an appropriate manner. In an instance in which the negative braking pressure is greater than a negative braking pressure threshold, the driving force is suppressed according to the master cylinder pressure. In an instance in which the negative braking pressure is equal to or less than the negative braking pressure threshold, the driving force is suppressed according to the operating state of the brake pedal (60).
