Abstract:
Provided is a vehicle control device that makes it possible to combine drivability with engine-restart performance. Said vehicle control device, which is provided with a green-driving system that automatically shuts off an internal combustion engine when automatic-shutoff conditions are satisfied and restarts said engine when restart conditions are satisfied, is provided with the following: a throttle motor that opens and closes a throttle valve that regulates the amount of air flowing into the engine; and a vehicle-speed sensor that detects the speed of the vehicle. If the engine is automatically shut off while the vehicle is under way (step S2), the throttle motor is controlled on the basis of vehicle-speed information from the vehicle-speed sensor such that the faster the vehicle is moving, the wider the throttle valve is opened (steps S3-S7).
