Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to provide an engine drive control device which makes it possible to select an appropriate engine drive control means when increasing the rotation of an engine while traveling. This vehicle control device, which controls a vehicle engine, is provided with a control unit which increases the rotational speed of the engine by means of first engine rotational speed control which increases the rotational speed of the engine using a rotating machine, and second engine rotational speed control which increases the rotation using the kinetic energy of the vehicle, by connecting a power transmission mechanism to the engine. The control unit selects either the first engine rotational speed control or the second engine rotational speed control in accordance with the kinetic energy of the vehicle and a requested vehicle deceleration, and increases the rotational speed of the engine by means of the selected first engine rotational speed control or second engine rotational speed control.
