Abstract:
A vehicle control device, having: a downshift controller 51 for executing downshift control, in which an engine control mechanism is driven so as to downshift an automatic transmission 200 and so as to increase the torque generated by an engine 10, when a request to downshift the automatic transmission 200 has been made; a vehicle attitude controller 53 for executing vehicle attitude control of lowering the torque generated by the engine 10 and producing vehicle deceleration, and thereby controlling the vehicle attitude, when conditions that the vehicle be in motion and that there be an increase in a steering angle-related value relating to the steering angle of a steering device have been satisfied; and a downshift suppression unit 55 for suppressing the execution of the downshift control when the vehicle attitude control is being executed.
