Abstract:
Provided is a vehicle control device with which it is possible to suppress the increase in startup time which accompanies the increase in communications-related functional units. The present invention comprises a power supply device (3) with which it is possible to supply or cut off operating power to a microcomputer (2) which communicates with other electronic control devices via CAN communication paths (CAN1, CAN2), and communication control devices (4, 6) which are provided to the plurality of CAN communication paths (CAN 1, CAN2) used in microcomputer (2) communications; wherein, when the communication control device (4) receives a control startup command signal via the CAN communication path (CAN1) relevant to the communication control device (4) to start up the microcomputer (2), the communication control device (4) switches from standby mode, in which functions are limited, to operating mode, and sends a power supply startup command signal to direct the power supply device (3) to switch the mode of the operating power supply to the microcomputer (2) from cutoff to supply, and, in addition, outputs a communication startup command signal to the communication control device (6) directing a switch from standby mode to operating mode.
