Abstract:
Provided is a vehicle control device (12) which, when traffic participants (20) are waiting in the vicinity of a railroad crossing (140) for a train to pass, appropriately controls driving of a vehicle (10) about to pass through the railroad crossing (140). Entry of the vehicle (10) into the railroad crossing (140) is restrained until a waiting time (T) elapses since when the railroad crossing (140) transitioned from a passage blocking state to a passage allowing state, the waiting time (T) being set in accordance with the kind or the number of the traffic participants (20) present in the vicinity of the railroad crossing (140). When the waiting time (T) has elapsed, the vehicle (10) is caused to enter the railroad crossing (140) and pass (through) the railroad crossing (140).
