Abstract:
The present invention provides a technology with which it is possible for a vehicle position to be accurately recognized in the vicinity of a branching road or a merging road where no map data exist. A vehicle control device according to the present invention determines whether or not a vehicle is traveling along a merging road or a branching road on the basis of a positional relationship between a start point of the merging road or the branching road and a vehicle position, in a case in which the vehicle is traveling along a road not indicated in map data.
