Abstract:
This vehicle control device determines a vehicle wheel rotation direction. The vehicle control device comprises: a counting unit for counting the number of rotations of each wheel detected by sensors; and a rotation determination unit for determining the rotation direction of a selected wheel to be subjected to determination on the basis of the counted numbers, from the counting unit, of the detected rotations of each wheel. For each wheel, the movement distance, based on the movement distance to a prescribed position of a vehicle, from the detection of a rotation of the wheel to the detection of the next rotation of the wheel is defined as the rotation detection travel distance of the wheel. When not even one rotation of a first reference wheel, which has a rotation detection travel distance equal to or shorter than that of a selected first wheel to be subjected to determination, is detected during a period in which two rotations of the first wheel to be subjected to determination are detected, the rotation determination unit determines that the rotation direction of the second detected rotation of the first wheel to be subjected to determination is opposite from the rotation direction of the first detected rotation.
