Abstract:
Disclosed is a control method of a vehicle, wherein a restriction rate (K) is set to smaller values as selected shift gears for higher speeds are selected by the driver, at or before a time (t2) when the kickdown switch is off. Consequently, the driving power in medium gear is more restricted than the driving power in low gear, and the driving power in high gear is more restricted than the driving power in medium gear. The restriction on driving power, which employs the restriction rate (K), is disengaged at the time (t2) when the kickdown switch changes from off to on, whereupon the quantity ß of the increase in the drive power in high gear is greater than the quantity α of the increase in the drive power in medium gear, as the restriction quantity was larger when the kickdown switch was off. A kickdown response is thus effected that seems natural in response to the shifting of gears.
