Abstract:
The present invention prevents a vehicle from traveling in a direction deviating from a direction intended by a driver while the vehicle is traveling on a slope. After having switched a driving mode to a sideways movement mode, the driver performs an operation to move the vehicle (1) sideways (S1). A slope angle is measured by a slope angle measurement means (71) (S2). The slope angle measured by the slope angle measurement means (71) is compared against a reference slope angle (S3), and sideways traveling is performed if the measured slope angle is smaller than the reference slope angle (NO in S3) (S4). If sideways traveling is to be continued (see NO in S5), slope angle measurement by the slope angle measurement means (71) is continued (S2). In contrast, if the measured slope angle is equal to or greater than the reference slope angle (YES in S3), the result is reported to an ECU (70), and the ECU (70) performs control so as to stop the vehicle (1) (S6).
