Abstract:
This vehicle control system is equipped with an automated driving control means for controlling, on the basis of surrounding environment information of a vehicle, at least one among the propulsion, braking, and steering of the vehicle without relying on driving operations by a driver, and a driving assistance control means for assisting with driving of the vehicle by the driver by controlling at least one among the propulsion, braking, and steering of the vehicle. The automated driving control means and the driving assistance control means are connected in a manner enabling communication therebetween. According to reception results for a signal received from the automated driving control means, the driving assistance control means controls the steering and at least one among the propulsion and the braking of the vehicle on the basis of the surrounding environment information of the vehicle, without relying on driving operations by the driver.
