Abstract:
Provided is a vehicle control system comprising: a storage unit that stores an operation curve representing the relationship between position and speed in a predetermined section on a track; a vehicle that travels the section in accordance with the operation curve read out from the storage unit; a time specification unit that specifies a time at which the vehicle is to arrive at the endpoint of the section; a first calculation unit that calculates an operation curve of the section and stores the calculated operation curve in the storage unit; a second calculation unit that calculates, more precisely than the first calculation unit, an operation curve of the section; an operation curve joining unit that searches for a reference point at which the position and speed match, within a predetermined prescribed range, between the operation curve calculated by the first calculation unit and the operation curve calculated by the second operation unit, and if a reference point is found, generates a joined operation curve obtained by joining both operation curves at the reference point; and an operation curve joining determination unit that determines whether the time prescribed by the time specification unit will be satisfied if the vehicle travels the section according to the joined operation curve, and stores the joined operation curve in the storage unit if the determination is that the time will be satisfied.
